Injury update on Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey

Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey is ruled out with a stress fracture that has kept him out of action, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that the Englishman will now be working on regaining his strength in the quest to return to full fitness.

Unai Emery confirmed on 5 April that the 22-year-old will not be returning again this season.

Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News:

“Difficult to say without more information but this seems like ‘turf toe’ or some sort of bone injury like a stress fracture.

“Toe surgeries really depend on what’s being operated so it’s difficult to give a general answer there.

“The post surgery process would be maintaining mobility in the toe while regaining strength and control and then progressively ramping those up.

“That’s probably what he’ll be undergoing right now as he aims to return to full fitness.”

Aston Villa have missed Jacob Ramsey this season
Ramsey’s absence has been a significant blow to the team, as he is a key player in midfield, known for his energy, technical ability and goal contributions.

His dynamism and versatility in both attacking and defensive phases of the game have been sorely missed, impacting Villa’s performance and tactical flexibility.

The 22-year-old’s absence has also placed additional pressure on other midfielders to perform consistently.

While it has not had a detrimental effect on the result, Emery would rather have a strong squad to pick from.
