‘No Deal!’ Ravens Fail to Reach Agreement with Veteran Special Teams Coach

A familiar face will not be returning to the Baltimore Ravens coaching staff. After a report on Monday revealed that the Ravens were in talks to bring back former special teams coordinator Jerry Rosburg, it seems those have concluded. According to a report from NFL.com’s Tom Pelissero, the Ravens are “now not expected” to bring back Rosburg after talks ended without a deal being made.

Rosburg, 68, was once a mainstay on the Ravens coaching staff for a decade, as he served as the special teams coordinator and assistant head coach from 2008 to 2018. That was before he decided to call it quits on his coaching career following the 2018 season. That is when he was promoted to interim coach, as the Broncos had fired Hackett after just 15 games, where he compiled a disastrous 4-11 record. Yet, despite being credited for landing and developing one of the most consistent kickers in NFL history, Justin Tucker, as an undrafted free agent, it seems Rosberg will not be returning to Baltimore after all.
