How silly Moyes has been with Pablo Fornals, when speaking to the Spanish press

Manuel Pellegrini has just highlighted a major error from West Ham United manager David Moyes regarding Pablo Fornals.

West Ham boss David Moyes sold Pablo Fornals to Manuel Pellegrini managed Real Betis on transfer deadline day last week.

Fornals, 27, barely started a game for the Hammers this season, and has regressed badly since the end of 2022 in all honesty.

However, it must be said that the Spaniard was never played in his correct central midfield position by Moyes. Instead, he was shunted out on the left wing whenever he was given a chance, so it’s no surprise that he badly wanted to leave the London Stadium in January.

Fornals was totally ineffective out on the left flank due to his lack of pace, and Moyes definitely wasted the former Villarreal man during his time at the London Stadium.

Pellegrini has been speaking to AS about the signing of Fornals from West Ham United on transfer deadline day.

“We already chose him for West Ham, he has a lot of back and forth, technically he is very gifted, with a lot of dynamics. We had Camarasa in that position here, but because of a serious injury he was unable to perform. Now we have been able to sign Pablo, who we know very well, and we hope that he will also contribute to us.”

Camarasa, 29, plays in a central midfield role for Real Betis, so it’s obvious where Pellegrini plans to use Fornals.

It really frustrates me that the Spaniard was never given a proper chance in the number 10 role at the London Stadium under Moyes. I’m sure he would have flourished.

Instead, the 27-year-old sacrificed his own career for the good of the team. We need to be eternally grateful to him for that.

Pablo Fornals will undoubtedly be a big hit at Betis under Manuel Pellegrini and if he is, it will highlight a major mistake by David Moyes.
