Tottenham ready to pounce on ‘ridiculous’ £32m forward similar to Gabriel Martinelli

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly still monitoring the Antonio Nusa situation after failing to sign him during the January transfer window.

Spurs were heavily linked with the Club Brugge prodigy last month, and seemingly came close to securing his services at one point.

For instance, TEAMtalk reported that Spurs were confident of being able to finalise a move for Nusa in the January transfer window.

Although things appeared to be moving swimmingly in pursuit of the Norway international, Premier League rivals Brentford got in there first.

That said, a failed medical has seemingly put a halt to the £32million deal and opened the door once again for Tottenham to pounce.

Belgian outlet

have reported that a final decision has not yet been made on Nusa’s future after his ‘dream was cut short’ at the end of the January window.

The two clubs are apparently still working on a potential deal for the summer, but the Bees are yet to make a final decision on the €37million (£32million) outlay.

And with that in mind, the likes of Spurs and Newcastle United are reportedly still in the mix to sign Nusa.

Tottenham target Antonio Nusa likened to Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli

Tottenham have done very well in recent years with regards to unearthing gems and polishing them into Premier League stars.

Nusa certainly seems to fit the bill. He has all the qualities to succeed at the top level, and if CIES Football Observatory is to be believed, he’s very similar to Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli.

In January CIES released a list of players under the age of 25 in the world with the ‘closest’ profile to the Brazil international.

At just 18 years of age, Nusa already has over 60 competitive Brugge outings and four Norway caps under his belt. He’s a rising star who has the tools to potentially become a superstar.

Dean Jones deemed Nusa an “absolutely ridiculous” talent, and his record so far certainly speaks for itself.
