New £36m summer target emerges for Tottenham
Amid growing interest over Barcelona’s Raphinha, Spurs may also look to make a summer move for Wolves’ Pedro Neto.
Spurs were recently re-linked with La Liga winger Raphinha, and according to Paul O Keefe (via The Hard Tackle), the club may just be interested in Wolves’ Pedro Neto as well.
In the recently closed January transfer window, Tottenham were able to add Timo Werner to their list of attacking options, and Son Heung-min should be joining back up with the squad in the coming weeks as his South Korea team look to finish business in the AFC Asian Cup. However, Spurs are still in pursuit of more attacking depth.
With Werner’s future at the club (i.e., how Spurs will utilize his buy-option clause) completely undecided at the moment, a still-injured Manor Solomon, departed Ivan Perisic, aging Heung-min Son, and a Swedish winger who thrives in the midfield, it may be appropriate to search for more talent. For a club run by Ange Postecoglou, a man who never shies away from scoring opportunities and shots on net, more options at the front will surely be well-used and much-needed.
Despite a hamstring injury which has seen the Portuguese footballer miss nine games this season, Neto has been very impactful for Wolves, contributing two goals and ten assists in 14 matches of league play, along with another goal and two assists in the FA Cup.
The player, who has appeared 128 times for Wolverhampton, is an extremely versatile attacker, able to play on both wings, at the ten, and even as a striker, where he started in the team’s most recent victory over Chelsea. At just 23-years-old, with over 100 games of Premier League play and the versatility to move seamlessly across the front line, Neto could be an excellent move for Spurs to make this summer.
