JUST IN: Giants star says what many fans are thinking

The New York Giants made plenty of headlines last offseason. They extended Daniel Jones, and they chose to not extend Saquon Barkley. The star running back played on the franchise tag.

Now, after an injury-riddled season for Jones and a disappointing campaign for the team as a whole, they have a decision to make on Barkley once again. According to recent reports, a long-term deal does not seem particularly likely between the Giants and Saquon.

Giants pass rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux believes that New York should have paid running back Saquon Barkley before quarterback Daniel Jones.

Thibodeaux’s comments are the belief from many fans of New York. Barkley has been their most talented player for the past handful of seasons, and the rest of their offense let him down in 2023.

The young edge rusher mentions that he does believe in Daniel Jones, but he does think that Barkley deserved to get extended before the QB. He says that he is mad at that decision.

Thibodeaux also mentions the ‘integrity’ of the team when discussing Barkley’s importance. It’s clear that the star RB is a leader in that locker room. His value reaches far beyond the football field.

The decision to give an extension to Jones was questionable at the time of it, but the deed is done. Now, the Giants front office needs to figure out their direction on offense elsewhere.
