Player waits on work permit as Rangers agree multi-million signing

Rangers have agreed a deal with FC Nordsjaelland to sign Mohamed Diomande, who is now waiting for a work permit, according to Sky Sports News.

The broadcaster reported in their online transfer centre (26 January, 9:30 am) that the Gers will pay a fee in excess of £4.3million to bring the midfielder to Scotland.

Diamonde is waiting to be granted a work permit before he can travel to Glasgow to complete his switch to Ibrox.

At the age of 22, the Ivory Coast Under-23 international has already played over 100 times for Nordsjaelland, including in European competition.

This will be very welcome news for Rangers fans across the country.

Philippe Clement will be delighted that his impressive start to life at the club is being rewarded, with those higher up clearly willing to back the Belgian in the transfer market.

Diomande brings with him a perfect blend of youth and experience. At the age of 22, he still has plenty of room to develop and learn, but he also boasts over 100 appearances in senior men’s football, which offers him plenty of experience.

He will be hoping to push his career to the next level upon his arrival from Denmark, while Rangers will hope that he can help push them up the Scottish Premiership as they hunt down league leaders Celtic.

Clement will now be waiting eagerly for the player’s work permit to be granted so that he can welcome him to the club and get him integrated into the squad as quickly as possible.

In other Rangers news, an exit for one player at the club has been agreed.
