Golden State Warriors kick off ‘Season of Giving’ campaign with turkey giveaway in SF

To help Bay Area families, the Golden State Warriors held a Thanksgiving Holiday Market where they distributed turkeys and other foodstuffs.

As part of the NBA Cares Season of Giving campaign, which will host a number of holiday activities to help the community, front office officials, coaches, and players from the Warriors will be present at the market. This is the first of many events in the series.

More than 100 Bay Area families were served by Tuesday’s market outside the Chase Center, which had former Warriors center Festus Ezeli helping families shop for holiday groceries and sample holiday dishes.

Hundreds of groceries were given away, including meat, produce and dairy items, according to a team spokesperson. Items ranged from staples like flour and pasta to the little extras that make a holiday complete, like crispy onions and cranberry sauce.

The Warriors will give away Christmas trees, toys and more, hold a holiday auction and host other events throughout December to benefit the Bay Area community.
