Leeds United Ready Move To Sign Liverpool Right-Back

Leeds United are considering making a move to sign Liverpool defender Calvin Ramsay on loan in the January transfer window, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper reported on page 69 of its print edition on Thursday (18 January) that the 20-year-old is amongst the names of right-backs that the Whites are keeping an eye on this month.

The Reds signed the Scotland international, who was recalled from a loan spell with Preston North End on Monday (15 January), from Aberdeen in the summer of 2022 for £6.5million [Sky Sports].

There is no doubt that Leeds are in desperate need of more depth at right-back after their options have been significantly reduced this month.

They came into January with several players who could play at fullback, but Djed Spence was sent back to Tottenham and Luke Ayling has joined Middlesbrough.

Ramsay will be keen to go out and earn some more regular football after playing just twice on loan with Preston, with his spell at Deepdale ravaged by injuries.

His previous form for Aberdeen, though, suggests he could be a solid option for the Whites after he was named the SFWA Young Player of the Year before making the switch to Anfield.

Daniel Farke will now be assessing his options as he certainly needs to bring someone in before the transfer window closes in a couple of weeks.

In other Leeds United news, Noel Gallagher has shared the likelihood of Kalvin Phillips re-joining the Whites.
