QUESTION: Did Dan Quinn Hurt His Seahawks Chances With Playoff Loss?

Did Dan Quinn Hurt His Seahawks Chances With Playoff Loss?

The Seattle Seahawks’ search for Pete Carroll’s successor is underway. Before the Wildcard Round, Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn was a hot favorite to return to the Seahawks. But after a 48-32 loss that saw Quinn’s defense get ran over by Aaron Jones and allowed Jordan Love and Co. to score touchdowns on five straight possessions while putting up 415 total yards, did it hurt Quinn’s chances of securing the head coaching job? It turns out it didn’t.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported that the first interview slip the Seahawks handed out was to Quinn. Now, attention turns to the interview process, with many questions surrounding Quinn and his unit’s performance against the Packers. But it appears the Seahawks are undeterred by what transpired at AT&T Stadium – they still want him. They know Quinn, understand what he is about as a person and coach, and clearly feel he could be a more-than-viable head coach for the franchise going forward.

While interviewing Quinn is one thing, getting him through the doors is another. Will he want to leave the Cowboys having that kind of performance in his last game? Or will there be a sense of unfinished business after what he has built over the last three seasons?
