Heat’s Herro out for another week amid ankle injury,

Coach Erik Spoelstra is giving Tyler Herro some time to heal despite the Jimmy Butler-led Heat’s ugly loss to the Nets.

The Miami Heat are currently on a two-game losing skid. Jimmy Butler and his pack suffered an NBA In-Season Tournament loss to the New York Knicks and a regular season matchup in the hands of the Brooklyn Nets.

Their squad is still arguably deep and able to compete against middle-of-the-pack squads, but Coach Erik Spoelstra might need more firepower down the line. This is why the injury update to Tyler Herro seems to be crucial.

Herro had his ankle re-evaluated and it showed that he would still need a week to recover, per Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald. Despite this, there is some very positive news from Spoelstra. The Heat’s mastermind in schematics outlines that the streaky shooter’s injury is getting better, noting that: “It’s trending in the right direction.”

The Heat really needed Herro’s presence in their loss to the Nets. They got outscored and beaten down with a scoreline of 112-97. A lot much more offensive prowess on the team would have been a huge boost.

The 2022 Sixth Man of the Year is averaging 22.9 points this 2023-24 season. His shooting clip during the first eight games tied his career-high of 44.7 percent on all three levels of scoring. The 3-point area is where he is shining the most. He is knocking down shots from outside with a 41 percent field goal rate, which ties his career-high shooting effectiveness from way downtown.

There are only a few days before Jimmy Butler gets their elite scorer back. Will they make a run after his return?
