Unbelievably, Draymond Green claims that he was irritated by Kevin Durant’s remarks following his suspension.

Draymond Green took the opportunity on his podcast to open up about what the last few weeks have been like for him. While highlighting a variety of different topics, he addressed statements made by former teammate Kevin Durant.

After Green punched Jusuf Nurkić, Durant expressed his shock over the incident. Making claims that Green wouldn’t do that back when he played with him on the Warriors.

“It really pissed me off when Kevin Durant said, ‘He wasn’t like that when I was around. I hope he get’s the help he needs.’”

However, after the initial anger settled, Green took the comments made by Durant to heart. Instead of letting his anger get the best of him, Green decided to use that time to reflect on his actions.

Green will look to return to the NBA as an improved person. Durant’s comments played a big factor in inspiring that change.

“And if I can look at Kevin’s statement the right way with the right mindset through the right lens, he’s acknowledging essentially what I want the world to know about me.”

Whether Green will take the comments to heart and make a real change remains to be seen. There is no set date for his return to the Warriors‘ lineup at this given time. However, it should be sometime in the next couple of games.

Green has the opportunity to come back to the league with a new mindset. He recently signed a four-year, $100 million deal to stay with the Warriors this last offseason. Green was an important piece of the team’s dynasty over the 2010s. Now, it will be up to him to help get the team back on track for the second half of the season.
