Aston Villa Are Prepared To Move In For This Arsenal Playmaker

Aston Villa are prepared to move in for Arsenal playmaker Emile Smith Rowe as they look to bolster their attack this January.

in a recent report, Fichajes mentioned that Aston Villa are prepared to move in for Arsenal playmaker Emile Smith Rowe. It has been stated that the Villans are eyeing a move to acquire the services of the English talent this month.

The 23-year-old has struggled to nail down a regular starting spot at the North London club and has often found himself behind Martin Odegaard, Declan Rice and Kai Havertz in Mikel Arteta’s pecking order.

Smith Rowe has participated in 12 matches for the Gunners this season, securing one assist in the process across all competitions. The English attacker has seen most of his appearances come off the bench which explains why he is only averaging 0.8 shots, 0.2 key passes and 0.3 dribbles per game in Premier League football. Smith Rowe has been accurate with his ball distribution after making 84.5% of his attempted passes in the top tier of English football (stats via whoscored). Smith Rowe’s current deal at the London club will run out in the summer of 2026. Thus, the Villans will have to launch a good offer if they are serious about recruiting the English sensation this winter.

Smith Rowe can shoot the ball with power and precision from long range and has got the eye to set up some decent chances for his teammates up top. He is a good dribbler with the ball as well but needs to find a way to earn more first-team starts in the coming seasons.

The English talent is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also play as a box-to-box midfielder or as a left-sided wide player if asked to do so. He would undeniably enhance the quality of Aston Villa head coach Unai Emery’s defence.
