The Chicago Bears Announce Devastating News For Justin Fields Ahead Of Green Bay Packers Matchup

The Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers will be facing off in a massive Week 18 matchup.  The Packers will earn a trip to the post-season with a win over the Bears.  Chicago is looking to do what the Detroit Lions did to the Packers last season, play spoiler.

Today, the Bears made an announcement that doesn’t bode well for Justin Field and his offense.

According to Chicago Bears beat writer Mark Grote:

While Bears center Lucas Patrick has been ruled out for tomorrow’s game against the Packers, Illini guy Doug Kramer has been elevated to the active roster.

On Saturday, the Bears placed center Lucas Patrick on injured reserve, preventing him from playing against the Packers on Sunday.

A calf injury limited Patrick in practice Friday, which added him to the injury report as questionable. This season, the seven-year veteran started 15 games for the Bears.

With Patrick is unavailable, the backup guard/center Cody Whitehair or center Doug Kramer will start.

Two seasons ago, the Bears signed Patrick to an $8 million contract, robbing him of the Green Bay Packers. He will become a free agent this offseason after his contract expires. It is possible that Patrick played his last game with the Bears.
