22-year-old Newcastle man has been included in the top 100 most..

Newcastle United have some of the most talented players in the Premier League and one of their stars has now been included in the top 100 most valuable footballers in the world.

Though his career in the North East didn’t get off to the best of starts, Anthony Gordon has been brilliant since the beginning of this season and one of Newcastle’s most threatening players.

CIES Football Observatory have published a list of the most valuable players in the world and Gordon has snuck in at the number 100 spot being valued at around £62m.

Gordon is invaluable to Newcastle right now

There’s no telling where Newcastle would be right now if it wasn’t for Gordon’s incredible efforts that have been so crucial in what has otherwise been a disappointing season so far.

The ‘phenomenal‘ 22-year-old has already racked up 13 goal contributions in 19 Premier League games with the latest assist coming in Newcastle’s 4-2 defeat to Liverpool on New Year’s Day after a brilliant ball to Alexander Isak.

He’s arguably been Newcastle’s best player this season with his driving runs down the left flank and his massively improved ability on goal, though he has started to look quite tired in recent games.

Injuries to Harvey Barnes and Elliot Anderson means that there hasn’t really been anyone to fill in for him, so the young star has played almost every minute of every game, including in the Champions League, so it’s bound to catch up with him.
