NEWS JUST IN: Former quarterback for the NFL believes the Chiefs can win the Super Bowl

The Kansas City Chiefs have not had the season we all hoped they would have or even imagined they would have – especially fresh off of the franchise’s third Super Bowl. Even the year after the 2019 Super Bowl, the Chiefs were still the best team in the league as they finished 14-2. They just ran into some eternal issues in the Super Bowl.

This year, after a Super Bowl win, is much different. They will be the third seed this time around. The Chiefs have a lot of issues this time around, more than they have had in this Patrick Mahomes – Andy Reid era. The defense is amazing, but the other two phases need help; even the special teams at times.

The Chiefs’ offense needs help. Sure, Sunday was better against the Bengals. However, those issues may still not get fixed anytime soon. That will be why the Chiefs lose in the postseason if they do. But there is one ESPN analyst who thinks the Chiefs can still win the Super Bowl.

“I think they can go on a Super Bowl run if they play the way that they did yesterday,” Dan Orlovsky said on ESPN’s First Take Monday. “This was the first game that I felt in maybe two months that they didn’t beat themselves… I think the thing I liked about their offense is Pacheco; they didn’t hurt themselves in the run game…

“Rashee Rice. For a couple of weeks, we have said that’s the guy; he is becoming a very dynamic wide receiver. They have to be better on third downs, no question… The defense can keep them in every game. If they don’t make it [Super Bowl], it will be because of the tackles.”

Orlovsky, who was an NFL quarterback, is one of the very few national media members covering the NFL who gives thoughtful insight, breaks down tape, and has factual reasons behind every opinion he gives. He doesn’t just say things for clicks like a ton of other media members, whom we will not name.

But hearing this from a guy who played in the league and knows the game is definitely promising, especially when you consider he played on the offensive side of the ball. Now, this doesn’t mean the Chiefs will win the Super Bowl, but it definitely should give fans a reason to be hopeful.
