GOOD NEWS: Tottenham star Pape Matar Sarr breaks silence on injury amid huge con…..

Tottenham star Pape Matar Sarr has given some hope that his injury isn’t as serious as first feared following the clash with Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon. The midfielder had given Spurs a dream start when he scored the opener in the first ten minutes of the match.

Son Heung-min and Richarlison found the back of the net later on in the tie, meaning that Alex Scott’s finish would only be a consolation for the Cherries. The most pressing concerns after another huge win would be on the injury front as both Sarr and Alejo Veliz failed to complete the game with issues of their own.

“Hard to say,” Ange Postecoglou said on the severity of the duo’s injuries. “Pape felt his hamstring and he’s emotional because he wants to go away with his national team. It’s a big tournament for them. It’s kind of the way our season has gone. He was so good again early in the game, apart from his goal, and then he gets an injury.

“Disappointing for him but I am hoping it is not too serious and he can still go away and contribute to his country. Alejo was in a lot of pain and we’d already done our substitutions so we were trying to get it out to him to just lay down so we can get him off, but it just shows the character of the boy because he knew we had no more substitutions and he just wanted to keep going. I’m not sure the extent of what he’s done but we’ll find out.”There was plenty of concern for Sarr after he was seen in tears upon being substituted, however a message on social media gave some hope that he would be fine. He posted on X (formerly Twitter): “More fear than harm

It comes as a huge boost for the midfielder, who will be hopeful he can now have an impact with his nation at the African Cup of Nations. Elsewhere, there is a boost for Tottenham too, who are seemingly on the brink of having the youngster sign an extended deal with the club.
