The Celtics will ring in the new year in San Antonio against this year’s number one pick, Victor Wembanyama, and the Spurs.
Fresh off back-to-back wins over the Detroit Pistons and Toronto Raptors on the heels of a 10-day West Coast trip, the Boston Celtics return to the road.
That starts with a game against this year’s first overall pick, Victor Wembanyama, and the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday.
Fortunately for the visitors, who were without Jayson Tatum (left ankle sprain injury management), Kristaps Porzingis (left calf injury management), and Al Horford, who sat out the second half of Boston’s back-to-back, as is tradition, all three are absent from the team’s latest injury report.
Jaylen Brown, who suffered a lower back contusion in Boston’s 126-115 win in its Christmas clash against the Los Angeles Lakers, isn’t on there either.
The two-time All-Star generated 31 points, ten rebounds, and six assists in the Celtics’ 120-118 win over the Raptors Friday.
The only player on the C’s injury report is Jrue Holiday, who’s questionable for Sunday’s matchup due to a right elbow sprain.
The former UCLA Bruin registered 15 points and three assists in the victory vs. Toronto.
