Raptors Look to Upset Tired Celtics: Where to Watch, Injury Reports & More
The Toronto Raptors will ride their new-look starting lineup into Boston on Friday night to take on Jayson Tatum and the Celtics at 7:30 p.m. ET. WHERE
TO WATCH TSN and TSN 1050 will air the game for Toronto. NBC Sports and 98.5 Sports Hub will broadcast Boston.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR The Celtics will be on the second night of a back-to-back after narrowly beating the Detroit Pistons in overtime on Thursday. That gives Toronto a shot to pull off the upset on the road if the Raptors can use their rest advantage to outhustle a tired Celtics team. Toronto’s rotations made better sense with the new starting lineup on Wednesday night but a win over the lackluster Washington Wizards doesn’t say much. Expect the Raptors to roll with the same groups in a more illuminating game against Boston.
Keep an eye on how the starters look together after getting outscored in their minutes by the Wizards last time out. Scottie Barnes looked pretty comfortable taking over Toronto’s lead point guard duties from Dennis Schröder against the Wizards but a matchup against Jrue Holiday presents a much tougher test. Barnes will have bumps in the road ahead but the Raptors want him to better develop his handle and matchups like this should be helpful in the long run.
INJURY REPORTS The Raptors will be without Christian Koloko and have listed Garrett Temple as doubtful. The Celtics have yet to release their injury report but Jaylen Brown’s status will be one to keep an eye on as he missed Thursday’s game with a lower back injury.
GAME ODDS The Raptors are +8.5 point underdogs with an implied win probability of just 26%. The total for the game is 225.5.
