Newcastle United eyeing January move for Brahim Diaz

Newcastle United will reportedly look to sign Brahim Diaz in a deal worth €60 million from Real Madrid in January.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Brahim Diaz is the subject of interest from Newcastle United. The Magpies are keen on signing the 24-year-old Real Madrid playmaker in the January transfer window. They are ready to fork out €60 million to secure his services this winter.

Brahim Diaz and His Struggles at Real Madrid

Brahim Diaz has been in and out of the starting lineup since returning to Real Madrid from his long loan spell at AC Milan. That has been the running theme since his return to Spain from Manchester City nearly half a decade ago. The Spanish international has failed to establish a foothold in the first-team squad at Real Madrid.

Vinicius Junior’s long-term injury has helped Brahim, who has chipped in with four goals and two assists in 17 appearances thus far this season. But the 24-year-old playmaker has managed only 657 minutes of game time this term. So, his prospects do not look bright, especially when the Real Madrid squad is at full strength.

Despite being in and out of the team this season, Brahim’s stature remains high. Several well-known clubs across Europe, including Bayer Leverkusen, have shown interest in the player. He is also a target for his former club AC Milan. But a move to the Premier League might be on the cards, with Newcastle United interested in him.

Newcastle United Keen on Brahim Diaz

The report claims that the Magpies want to sign the Real Madrid playmaker in the January transfer window. They are ready to offer a sizable transfer fee worth €60 million to sign Brahim Diaz this winter. But that valuation seems excessive for a player who has not justified such an investment thus far in his career.

Nonetheless, Newcastle United will look to prise the 24-year-old playmaker away from Real Madrid next month. A bid worth €60 million might do the trick for Real Madrid unless the Spanish giants somehow value him higher than that.

Meanwhile, Newcastle United might not be the only Premier League club interested in Brahim Diaz. Recent reports have also linked him with Aston Villa and West Ham United. So, it will be interesting to see if a January move to Newcastle United sees the light of day for the Real Madrid midfielder.
