Villa ‘tracking’ Leeds star as club stance emerges ahead of January

Latest Aston Villa news from BirminghamLive brings you the reported interest in Crysencio Summerville.

Aston Villa are keeping tabs with Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville, it has been claimed.

The 22-year-old has taken the Championship by storm this season, helping Leeds to emerge as serious promotion contenders. He has scored 11 goals and assisted six in 21 games in all competitions.

According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, the Dutch has “several clubs tracking him”, including Villa. He was subject of a £20million bid from Burnley in the summer but stayed at the club despite their relegation to the second division.

Summerville is also admired by Crystal Palace and Everton. Leeds who are targeting a swift return to the Premier League, have no intention of selling him in January.

He arrived at Elland Road as one of the country’s up and coming talents after completing the move from Feyenoord. Summerville is now an integral figure at Leeds and any interest is likely to be blocked by the club.

Previously speaking about his future, he said: “I really love Leeds, where I came in as an 18-year-old. That moment will stay with me forever. A few hours after that goal [against Liverpool] I turned 21: that was the best birthday I could wish for. I hope we return to the Premier League as soon as possible.”
