Spurs could turn to youngster if they do not get Todibo

Fabrizio Romano has said that Tottenham Hotspur could turn their attention to Genoa’s Radu Dragusin if they cannot get a deal for Jean-Clair Todibo over the line.

Various sources over the last few days have reported that Spurs have accelerated their move for Todibo since Romano first broke on his YouTube channel on Wednesday that the Lilywhites had started conversations with the 23-year-old’s entourage as well as with Genoa.

In that video, the journalist suggested that Ange Postecoglou’s men want a swift conclusion to the deal and do not want negotiations to drag on through January.

This claim was also backed up on Thursday by TEAMtalk, who asserted that Tottenham are waiting for a green light from Todibo and Nice as they are keen to get a centre-back through the door by the middle of January.

The publication added that the North London club will turn their attention to other targets if the Ligue 1 club make negotiations for the Frenchman man difficult, naming Dragusin as one of the alternatives on Spurs’ radar.

Dragusin is one of the options on Tottenham’s list

Romano has now confirmed the same, revealing that Spurs could turn their attention to the Romanian international if talks over Todibo do not prove fruitful.

The journalist told CaughtOffside: “The conversation is ongoing but they have other options as well. One of those could be Radu Dragusin of Genoa.

“At the moment he looks set to sign a new contract there, but that doesn’t mean he’s not leaving. Let’s see what Genoa will decide, but for sure he’s one of the options for Tottenham as well as Todibo.”

It appears as if Dragusin is the main alternative on Tottenham’s wishlist to Todibo, ahead of the likes of Tosin Adarabioyo and Llyod Kelly. The deal for the 21-year-old should be quite straightforward for Spurs to complete, given the relatively low price that has been mooted for the Genoa man.
