Aston Villa could make a transfer gamble at striker

Aston Villa have been one of the most surprising sides in European football this season, because they have a legitimate chance at qualifying for the Champions League in 2023/24 after already showing great growth by making the Conference League.

Under Unai Emery, Villa look like a force to be reckoned with and have some exciting attacking talents, adding Bundesliga superstar Moussa Diaby from current league leaders Bayer Leverkusen to pair with breakout striker Ollie Watkins.

However, Aston Villa are not done yet. In second place and tied on points with Arsenal, the Lions are ready for more. They have been linked to a number of exciting attacking talents, including even Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho.

Now, according to Sport Italia, Aston Villa are showing interest in Juventus striker Moise Kean.

The former Everton and PSG man isn’t known for being the most consistent player up top, but his talent has never been in question. Kean could be someone Aston Villa take a flier on, in the hopes Emery can get the most out of him.

So many young talented players have been rising under Emery, and Kean fits that kind of profile. He does work hard for Juventus and did the same for PSG back in the day, even playing as a right winger to accommodate other players.

Kean is a gamble because he probably won’t be cheap. Buying players from a club like Juventus ends up carrying a price tag, especially if you are a Premier League team in the thick of a literal title race. Juve themselves are in a title race, too.

However, if Villa’s manager is sold on Kean’s upside and believes he can be the one to unlock this potentially special Italian talent, then a reasonable price tag is worth a punt for the Lions.

With the right additions, Aston Villa should be able to secure Champions League football and even give powerhouses Arsenal and Manchester City a run for their money in the Premier League title race.
