Leeds United have one of the youngest squads across the entirety of the Championship this season.
The Whites have a number of youngsters including Crysencio Summerville, Archie Gray, Georginio Rutter and plenty more, all of which have been key players under Daniel Farke.
Only two clubs – Sunderland and Blackburn Rovers – have a younger average age from the players that have been used so far this season, according to Transfermarkt.
But there is one that has really left Ethan Ampadu blown away so far this season, and that is Gray, considering this is his first season playing senior football.
In an interview with the Yorkshire Evening Post, Ampadu believes Gray still has a long way to go yet in terms of his development, but has been unbelievable so far this term. It’s not the first time, he’s praised him either.
Gray shining in two roles for Leeds
He said: “He’s done alright hasn’t he?! He’s done very well. I don’t think you need me or anyone to sit here and say how well he has done. But he’ll tell you himself, he is his biggest critic.
“He’ll tell you himself that he has a long way to go, he’s still got a lot of hard work to do. But from the start of it, it is looking very promising. He has been very good so far this season and long may that continue.”
Gray has been drawing consistent praise from teammates, fans and pundits alike so far this season for the way he has acquitted himself to first team football so quickly.
Clubs like Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund are already queuing up to sign the 17-year-old, but hopefully he will stay at Leeds for as long as possible and continue his family legacy.
Gray started the season playing in his favoured central midfield role but has since been moved to right-back, where he has also looked impressive in a number of matches.
