The Boston Celtics are facing the LA Clippers in Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon, and star forward Jayson Tatum is being listed as questionable with a left ankle sprain.
Tatum first injured his left ankle in Boston’s loss to the Golden State Warriors, but was able to finish that game after hobbling back to the locker room. The Celtics played the Sacramento Kings the day after that loss to Golden State, and Tatum did not play.
Tatum finishing that game against the Warriors was a good sign that the ankle issue was not too serious, but he was forced to miss one game, and is now being listed as questionable for this game against the Clippers. Clippers star Kawhi Leonard is also being listed as questionable for this game with a left hip contusion, so there is a chance that both teams will be without their best players in this one.
This would seriously limit the intrigue for what would otherwise be a very exciting and star-filled matchup, so hopefully both Leonard and Tatum are good to go.
The Clippers have been playing much better of late, despite losing their nine-game winning streak on Thursday night against the OKC Thunder. Boston has remained solid all season, and is always a tough opponent. For now, there are two big injury statuses to watch for in this game.
