NEWS JUST IN: Trae Young Made NBA History In Hawks-Heat Game

On Friday evening, the Atlanta Hawks  are in Florida facing off against the Miami Heat. During the game, Trae Young made NBA history by moving up on the all-time assists list. 

Young has now passed Hall of Famer Pete Maravich (3,563) for 160th on the list.

Following Maravich, the next player for Young to pass will be Paul Westphal (3,591).

Young came into the evening with averages of 28.2 points, 3.0 rebounds, 11.1 assists and 1.3 steals per contest while shooting 43.4% from the field and 38.7% from the three-point range in 25 games.

The Hawks are the tenth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 12-15 record in their first 27 games.

They are 4-6 over their last ten games and in the middle of a two-game winning streak.

Most recently, the Hawks defeated the Houston Rockets (in Texas) by a score of 134-127.

In 36 minutes of playing time, Young had 30 points, four rebounds, 14 assists and one steal while shooting 10/18 from the field and 5/8 from the three-point range.

Following the Heat, the Hawks will return home to host Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies at State Farm Arena on Saturday evening.
