Legendary guitarist Carlos Santana has announced the postponement of his scheduled January residency shows at the House of Blues in Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, Las Vegas. The performances, originally set to begin on January 22, have been delayed due to an accidental fall at his vacation home in Hawaii.
Michael Vrionis, President of Universal Tone Management, shared the news in a statement, saying, “I am sorry to say that Carlos was out taking a walk at his vacation home in Kauai. He took a hard fall and broke his little finger on his left hand. He had to have pins inserted in the finger. Unfortunately, he won’t be able to play guitar for approximately six weeks. Doctors do say that he will recuperate fully.”
Despite the injury, Santana remains in good spirits and is eager to return to the stage as soon as possible. “Carlos is doing well and is anxious to be back on stage soon. He just needs to heal,” Vrionis added. “Santana profoundly regrets these postponements of his upcoming performances, but accidents happen, and his health is our number one concern. He is looking forward to seeing all of his fans very soon.”
The postponement affects a string of highly anticipated shows that are part of Santana’s ongoing residency at the House of Blues. Fans who have already purchased tickets for the January performances are encouraged to check with the venue or ticket provider for rescheduling details.
