Danny Rohl drops Sheffield Wednesday transfer hint after defeat

Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl says he has a ‘clear idea’ of what he wants in the January transfer window.

Sheffield Wednesday suffered yet another defeat in the Championship yesterday, losing 2-1 away at Birmingham City. For new boss Rohl, it’s a fifth defeat in six games at the helm, and for Sheffield Wednesday it’s a 13th defeat from their opening 17 games of the season.

The Owls remain at the foot of the Championship table and now 10 points adrift after Darren Moore and his Huddersfield Town side claimed a point vs Southampton yesterday.

What has Rohl said about January?

The January transfer window is just around the corner and for Sheffield Wednesday, it’s a huge one.

Right now they need a miracle to stand any chance of beating the drop this season, with this current crop of players nowhere near the required standard.

So that makes January pivotal. But given the off-field issues that Wednesday and Dejphon Chansiri have right now, whether or not the Owls can make any signings in the New Year remains to be seen.

Rohl recently spoke about January and hinted at potential comings and goings as he looks to add some balance to the side, and after yesterday’s game he revealed that he knows what he wants in January, hinting that he’ll hold talks with Chansiri over the club’s January business.
