Clement reveals one Rangers tradition he doesn’t enjoy

Philippe Clement

Rangers boss Philippe Clement has admitted that he isn’t overly keen on wearing a suit whilst barking orders from the touchline – though he respects the tradition and grandeur that comes with taking the Ibrox dugout.

Typically a gaffer to dress up in a long winter overcoat in his spells at Club Brugge and Genk, it’s not so much his appearance which Clement is remembered for – more so his consecutive hat-trick of Belgian top-flight titles, split across the two clubs, that propelled his name into stardom in European circles.

A relatively mediocre spell at French giants Monaco gave Clement a chance to get back into the game at Rangers, and it’s been so far so good for the Belgian – winning his first major trophy at the Ibrox club with Sunday’s 1-0 Viaplay Cup final win over Aberdeen. But the Belgian boss has admitted that he doesn’t look forward to wearing the suit that Rangers traditionally don on match days – though he understands due to the sheer size and nature of the club.
