You have to hand it to Richarlison: his Tottenham career has been far from uneventful thus far. After making a big money move from Everton last summer, the Brazilian struggled in his first season with the Lilywhites, scoring just three goals across all competitions .
During that campaign, Richarlison struggled with injuries and personal issues, but still managed to prove himself at the World Cup in Qatar, and also found plenty of ways to rile up players at other clubs.
This year, under new manager Ange Postecoglou, there appears to have been an improvement in Richarlison’s fortunes. The 26-year-old seems happier, and has hit a purple patch of late, with three goals in his last two games in the Premier League (Transfermarkt).
There had been talk of Richarlison’s time at Spurs coming to an end not long ago, with a move to Saudi Arabia thought to be on the cards (UOL). While the North London club were initially unwilling to consider this move, Football Insider claimed there may have been a change of heart.
That is, until Richarlison’s recent goalscoring run. Now, a report from the Daily Mail suggests Spurs are well “aware” that clubs in Saudi Arabia may be interested in their player, but it is thought the club “would be loath to lose him” right now.
Apparently, Richarlison “remains a target” for Al-Ittihad, but given he has found his goalscoring boots, it’s now thought to be unlikely Spurs would want to sell.
