Westlife’s Mark Feehily recently announced that he would be stepping away from the band to focus on his health, which has been a major setback for the group as they embark on their first-ever U.S. tour. Feehily has faced significant health issues over the past few years, including a battle with sepsis, pneumonia, and multiple surgeries, beginning with an emergency surgery in 2020. Despite his efforts to rejoin the band, the physical demands of touring have been challenging for him, leading to his decision to take a hiatus from performing.
The remaining Westlife members—Shane Filan, Kian Egan, and Nicky Byrne—have voiced their support for Feehily, respecting his need to prioritize recovery. They intend to carry on with the tour and continue engaging fans in his absence while expressing hope for his return when he’s fully ready.
