U2 revealed a sad music story about their planned album
U2 recently revealed a bittersweet development regarding their long-discussed album Songs of Ascent. The band has completed around 20 tracks, but despite the anticipation, they have chosen not to release it yet. Instead, they plan to focus on a “noisy, uncompromising, unreasonable guitar album,” aiming to recapture the raw energy of rock ‘n’ roll. Bono has described Songs of Ascent as a reflective and spiritual record, but it has been shelved in favor of this new project that seeks to bring the intensity of their live performances into the studio.
The decision to delay Songs of Ascent was not made lightly, and Bono expressed optimism that the band still has its best work ahead, even if the process of bringing it to life “might cost us a lot”.
