Tottenham have now secured back-to-back wins after they defeated Nottingham Forest 2-0 in the Premier League on Friday night at the City Ground.
After losing four times in five games despite taking an early lead, Ange Postecoglou was under a bit of pressure. However, it seems SSpurs are truly back to their old best, and they are pushing for a place in the top four.
Goals from Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski sealed all three points for the north London club. Spurs played the last 20 minutes with 10 men after Yves Bissouma was sent off in the 70th minute.
Football London journalist Alasdair Gold wrote on X that Spurs goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario appeared to have called all the Spurs defenders to celebrate the clean sheet.
“After the final whistle, Guglielmo Vicario appeared to call together the Spurs defenders in a huddle to celebrate their clean sheet together,” wrote Gold.
Spurs are now level on points with Manchester City, although Pep Guardiola’s side have played a game less. The defeat puts Forest in real trouble. They sit 16th in the table, five points clear of the bottom three, but have only managed just one win in their previous 13 matches in the English top flight.
Spurs were dominant throughout the game with Kulusevski producing a stellar performance. Richarlison scored his cross towards the end of the first half, and then he turned into a scorer after finding the net with a fierce shot from close range.
After Bissouma got sent off following a VAR check, Forest created some very good chances, and Vicario, 27, had to make one or two saves to ensure Spurs kept their clean sheet.
