GOOD NEWS: Atlanta Braves celebrated after playoff spot

Monday was a stressful day for the Atlanta Braves and their fanbase. They ended the 2024 season with a hard-fought and anxiety-inducing doubleheader against the New York Mets. Atlanta heartbreakingly lost game one of the doubleheader in what will certainly be known as an instant classic.

However, Grant Holmes and the Braves bullpen, took care of business against the Mets in the season’s final game to clinch their spot in the postseason. The ending of the stressful and bizarre 2024 season couldn’t have been more fitting.

The team lost the first game and then weren’t able to start their ace after fans learned Chris Sale was scratched due to back spasms that flared up on Sunday as he was preparing for Monday’s start. Holmes learned he was starting thirty minutes before game 162.

It came down to the wire but at the end of the day, they made it into the playoffs and anything can happen now.

Atlanta briefly celebrated their achievement before getting on a plane and heading to San Diego for a tough three-game series with the red-hot Padres. Let’s check out some of the highlights from last night’s celebration.

Brian Snitker kicked things off with a brief but inspiring speech to his club. He stated, “Don’t ever take this for granted. You’re never, ever guaranteed this, and enjoy the hell out of it. I don’t care how the hell we get in, we’re in now fellas, and anything can happen as we’ve seen.”
