Derby County attacker poised to miss the next couple of weeks due to injury
Derby County are back in action this weekend with an away trip to Bramall Lane to take on Sheffield United. They head into their trip to South Yorkshire on the back of their 1-0 home win over Cardiff City last time out.
Barkhuizen, 31, sat out of their game against the Bluebirds after feeling his calf during training last week. The Rams didn’t take any risks with him and he is now on the road to recovery.
In this latest update regarding his condition by DerbyshireLive, the player is ‘set’ to be out of action for the next two weeks. That means he may be back available for their final match before the next international break against QPR, but is likely to miss their upcoming fixtures against Sheffield United, Norwich City and Sunderland.
His contract at Pride Park expires in June 2025 meaning he is due to become a free agent as things stand.
