Derby County summer signing return against Cardiff City

Derby County’s Ben Osborn could be back in contention for their game this weekend.

Derby County left out of the versatile 30-year-old of their squad for their 3-0 win over Bristol City last time out. Kenzo Goudmijn, Kayden Jackson and David Ozoh were on the scoresheet for them against the Robins at Pride Park.

Osborn, who is from Derby, has had an issue with his calf but will be using the current international break to help him get back up to speed. The Rams are back in action this weekend with another home clash against Cardiff City as they look to make it two wins on the spin.

In this latest selection update, DerbyshireLive suggest Osborn ‘should’ be back available which would be a boost for Paul Warne’s side. It remains to be seen at this stage whether he would be able to start the game though.

Derby County have six points on the board from their first four fixtures. They have beaten Middlesbrough and Bristol City on their own patch but have lost to Blackburn Rovers and Watford away respectively.

Osborn being fit would be good news for them as they look to make it three victories in a row at home against Cardiff City. He can play in midfield or at left-wing back if needed.
