Derby County contract as Paul Warne…

Derby County contract state of play as Paul Warne could lose half of his squad next summer.

The Rams have had a turbulent few years and squad churn will be nothing new to Paul Warne as he looks to stabilise the club in the Championship.

Over a busy summer, Derby signed 11 players in an attempt to help the team survive in the second tier at the first time of asking.

Additions were made in key areas such as the goalkeeper ranks and the midfield base, but there were also some changes up front.

With the transfer window now closed, the Derby manager will have to look inward at the players at his disposal until January rolls around.

Not only will he have to make the best use of them as possible, but there will also be questions over the future for many of them.

Derby currently have a squad of 28 players for the season, which includes loan deals and youngsters in the mix.

As things stand, Warne could be set to lose 14 of that 28-man squad, which would represent a huge turnover.
