The Golden State Warriors and Phoenix Suns went down to the wire on Tuesday night, with Phoenix defeating Golden State by a final score of 119-116.
The NBA has released their Last Two Minute Report for this game, and it includes one missed call that could have been big, but was ultimately inconsequential.
With 29.1 seconds remaining, the NBA says Warriors guard Chris Paul should have been called for a defensive three second violation, which would have given the Suns a free throw and possession back.
The score was 115-112 at the time of this missed call, and Phoenix did not score on that possession. A free throw on that possession would have made it a two possession game, but with the Warriors losing the game anyways, it was inconsequential.
That said, the NBA still detailed the missed call on their Last Two Minute Report, and it was the only one listed as incorrect. The bigger stories of this game are of course Draymond Green’s ejection, along with the benching of Klay Thompson.
Two major developments for the Warriors, with Green likely facing a suspension, and now Thompson dealing with his first real benching, there is a lot going on in Golden State right now. Looking to get back on track, the Warriors will have to put aside some of their distractions and get back to playing basketball.
