Six more images of men police want to speak to after the riots that broke out in Stoke-on-Trent have been released. Violence erupted on Saturday, August 3, after hundreds descended on Hanley ahead of a far-right protest around 11.30am.
Violence erupted around 1.30pm outside Darul Falah mosque on Town Road at first, where a crowd had gathered to oppose demonstrators. Around 100 police with riot shields and dog units responded to the chaos.
Police are now asking for the public’s help to identify men they want to speak to as a major investigation into the disorder continues.
A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said: “Are you able to help us identify these men? We want to talk to them in connection with the violent disorder that unfolded in Stoke-on-Trent on Saturday 3 August?
“If you know who they are or might have information that can help us identify them, please get in touch using the Major Incident Portal: Public Portal (mipp.police.uk).”
Police made 10 arrests during the day as around 100 riot police responded to chaotic scenes described by the force as ‘pockets of disorder’. Staffordshire Police gave details of the 10 arrests on Sunday, August 4. According to police, the arrests made were as follows:
