Paul Warne makes hilarious claim about Derby County new boy Jacob Widell Zetterstrom

Paul Warne took his newly promoted outfit to Ewood Park, seeing Derby County lose 4-2 to Blackburn Rovers.

Blackburn were not a top team in the second division last term, ending the previous campaign sat in 19th place.

But after they rolled over Derby with relative ease, fans of the club were no doubt very nervous when they welcomed Middlesbrough to Pride Park on August 17th.

Boro lost just one of their last 12 Championship matches in 2023/24 and after beating Swansea City and Leeds United in their opening two matches of the season, were expected to prove a stern test for Derby.

However, an Isaiah Jones error allowed Nathaniel Mendez-Laing to get through on goal and slot past Seny Dieng to put the home side 1-0 up after 14 minutes.

The Rams endured heavy pressure from Michael Carrick’s side for the remainder of the 90 minutes but in the end, Derby beat Middlesbrough 1-0.
