Philadelphia Phillies Linked to Upcoming All-Star Free Agent Outfielder.
The Philadelphia Phillies have struggled in their last 14 games.
Unfortunately, despite continuously winning at a high level and being seen as top-tier World Series candidates, the Phillies have gone 4-10 over the aforementioned series of games.
While they are totally committed to turning the season around and winning a championship, the front office is almost probably already planning for the upcoming summer and how they can enhance the roster even more.
One possible area of interest is introducing a bigger bat to the outfield.
They acquired Austin Hays before the MLB trade deadline. That was a solid move, but it was not the high-impact move they were supposed to be planning.
They were linked to several people, including Luis Robert Jr., Brent Rooker, and Cody Bellinger. All three of those guys would have brought significantly more potential to the team.
Looking ahead to the offseason, they have been identified as a potential suitor for one fascinating star outfielder who is scheduled to enter the free agency market.
According to the Sporting News, the Phillies could be a potential free agency bidder for Baltimore Orioles’ star outfielder.
“Teams such as the Seattle Mariners, Philadelphia Phillies, and Houston Astros might be contenders for Santander this winter. In any high-stakes free agent chase, there is always a’mystery team’ that enters the picture.
Santander has appeared in 114 games for the Orioles in the 2024 MLB season. He’s been batting.243/.308/.534, with 35 home runs and 79 RBI.
Adding that kind of bat to an already formidable lineup would provide excellent entertainment.
Santander is only 29 years old. He would be a long-term addition for Philadelphia and would be a significant contributor to keeping World Series contention alive for the future.
While many teams will be interested in signing Santander.
