‘AGT’ Fans Are Showing Up for Drake Milligan After a Shocking Tour Update on IG
He may have not won America’s Got Talent, but Drake Milligan‘s music career continues to pick up speed.
During his tenure on season 17 of the hit NBC series, the musician continuously impressed audiences (and AGT judge Simon Cowell) with his original take on country music. While he ended up placing third after Kristy Sellars and winners The Mayyas, he hasn’t let that stop him from taking his songs out on the road. In fact, he recently performed tunes from his new album Dallas/Fort Worth in his hometown and it was an emotional experience. Drake opened up about what it was like playing at the historic Billy Bob’s Texas venue where country music legends have performed since 1981.
“Last night was unreal. I’ve been dreaming about headlining @BillyBobsTexas for as long as I can remember,” Drake captioned a series of on Instagram photos on September 24. “Never dreamed it would be this soon.”
He continued: “Thank you so much to the hometown Fort Worth crowd that packed it out!! Now my handprints are going to be on the Wall of Fame with nearly every one of my country music heroes. Still can’t believe it. Thank y’all so much. I’ll never forget 9/23/2022 ⚡️⚡️.”
Given that many AGT fans have followed Drake since he auditioned with his original song “Sounds Like Something I’d Do,” they immediately took notice when the young singer posted about his big career move. Lots of folks let him know how proud they were about how far he’s come.
“It was AWESOME!!!! So glad I was there singing along with almost every word,” one person wrote in his Instagram comments section. “You look so happy 🥺 congrats! hope it was everything you dreamed of 🤍,” another added. “So happy for you and your band. Things will only go forward for you. 🥰🥰,” a different fan said.
