Oliver’s Venable’s Theatre to go Back to Black with Amy Winehouse tribute
Oliver’s Venables Theatre will go back to black with an Amy Winehouse tribute performance this fall.
On Nov. 24, The Passion Of Amy Winehouse — Back To Black Featuring: Heidi Munro will grace the stage with “energy and optics”. Munro is a well-known Saskatchewan vocalist and performer who also does the jazzy tribute.
“The Passion of Amy Winehouse is performed with a stellar A-list of musicians well known across Canada,” reads the event listing.
The show aims to pay tribute to the singer who was known for being a gifted and raw artist. The audience can expect to see a Winehouse-inspired beehive and get-up, while Munro sings several of her jazz/hip-hop tunes.
“Heidi’s trademark ‘no holds barred’ vocal style and passion lends itself to the depth of Amy’s honest, controversial, brilliant, and beautiful artistry, which is beyond what many can understand,” continues the event listing.
Munro will be accompanied on stage by bandmates Scott Patrick, Carley Bailey, Justin Glibbery, Mike Schell, Zach Griffin, Chris Manual, Stephan Bienz, and Scott Gamble
“Heidi Munro’s production of ‘Back to Black’ tribute to Amy Winehouse was a show worthy of any stage in Las Vegas,” reads a statement from the American Federation of Musicians 553.
