Blackburn Rovers ‘register interest’ in free agent striker as Wrexham transfer links go cold
Wrexham ended the Wrex Coast Tour with a thumping win on Sunday morning.
MLS side Vancouver Whitecaps were hammered 4-1 as Phil Parkinson’s men turned in a strong display.
Fleetwood Town are next up in the final game of pre-season before Wrexham kick off in League One against Wycombe Wanderers.
Parkinson will be delighted with this pre-season; five new signings and some impressive displays against strong opposition.
There is still work to be done though and Wrexham may move to land another forward ahead of the new season.
As things stand, Parkinson will call upon the likes of Jack Marriott, Ollie Palmer, Steven Fletcher and Sam Dalby to lead Wrexham’s attack.
Paul Mullin is on the sidelines right now and could miss the start of the season after undergoing surgery.
Dalby’s long-term future is a little unclear and Fletcher may feature in a lesser role this season as he heads towards the end of his career.
That may leave Wrexham to consider adding another forward this summer and one name mentioned is that of Stephen Humphrys.
A free agent after leaving Wigan Athletic this summer, Wrexham were linked with a move to sign Humphrys in May.
