Maresca reveals how long he plans to stay at Leicester

Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca hopes to stay at the club for at least three or four years. The 43-year-old made the revelation in a question and answer session with supporters at the King Power Stadium on Wednesday evening.

He explained what he hopes to achieve in that time, and also touched on topics like academy players and Claudio Ranieri. Local online magazine Cool As Leicester were among the attendees at the event, which was also supported by Leicester City Women’s manager Willie Kirk. They posted on X: “Really good evening at the fan Q&A with Enzo and Willie. Some great insights. A few highlights.

“Enzo says at the moment he’s only thinking about promotion, not beyond, but he hopes to stay at the club for a minimum of 3-4 years to build something special. When he arrived, he made it v clear that he’d only work with players who want to be here.

They added: “One of the first people to contact Enzo when he got the job was Claudio. He said he’s a lovely man who loves Leicester City and told him what a special place it is.”

Maresca also commented on being “very lucky to have great academy players”, though he explains the youngsters to “work doubly hard” to get into the first team.
