£900m-worth owners hopeful Moshiri will accept bid next week in fresh Everton takeover update…..

AJ Bell and George Downing hopeful bid to buy Everton will be accepted

Everton ownership saga is getting interesting every day with several bidders coming into the picture to buy the club.

According to a report from talkSPORT, Andy Bell and George Downing, lifelong Everton fans, have submitted a bid to purchase majority shares of Farhad Moshiri. They are hopeful that Moshiri will accept their bid within next week.

Bell and Downing have a combined net worth of around £900 million and they have submitted a formal seven-figure offer. Moshiri terminated the deal with 777 Partners after they failed to come up with funds before the deadline.

He is now looking to sell the majority of his shares to other interested parties who are genuinely willing to buy the Merseyside club.

Bell and Downing have already loaned the club £50 million and saved the Toffees from going into administration. Now they want a full takeover, with backing from American billionaire Michael Dell.

Dell is a wealthy businessman who is thought to be worth around £78billion. Alex Crook reports that Dell’s private investment firm MSD Partners will back the duo from behind with finances.

Everton takeover: Farhad Moshiri has other options

Alan Myers claimed on 8 June that Dan Friedkin had expressed an interest in buying Everton. Friedkin is the owner of Serie A giants Roma and is reportedly worth $6.1b.

Interestingly, following the termination of the deal with 777, several buyers have emerged out of nowhere and have expressed their desire to take control of Everton.

As of now, five buyers have expressed their interest in buying Moshiri’s majority shares. What is interesting here is that Bell and Downing have moved quickly and wasted no time in stating their intentions by submitting a lucrative offer.

The pair are lifelong Everton fans and have shown great willingness to manage the club they love most. Moshiri may choose to hand over his shares to the highest bidder, but he must consider that Everton should go into the hands of someone who genuinely cares about the club’s future.

The coming week is going to be very crucial for Everton and the Toffees fans will hope that a solution can be reached.
