BREAKING NEWS: Former 49ers wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders asserts that Brock Purdy’s performance will “prove all critics wrong.”

Brock Purdy’s outstanding performance this year has silenced his naysayers.

After being labeled as a one-hit wonder who wouldn’t likely be able to repeat his success from his first NFL start, the quarterback put on quite the show throughout the season. Purdy still has doubts even after having a season worthy of an MVP candidate and nearly guiding his team to the Super Bowl.

Former San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders is persuaded of him based only on his 17-4 record. Sanders had nothing but positive things to say about Brock Purdy during a recent visit on the Up and Adams Show with Kay Adams.

Sanders expressed his shock over Purdy being ranked 13th amongst QBs in the NFL as per Pro Football Focus rankings.

I don’t think that’s a fair spot. As far as Purdy, I just don’t understand why people just keep sleeping on him. I was talking to Deebo last year about Purdy and I said, ‘Man, what is it about Purdy?’ And he said, ‘Man, you should see him in the huddle. He comes in the huddle, he plays with a certain confidence, he comes in and believes, he makes other guys believe.’ And I’ve played with quarterbacks like that, and that’s the type of guy the 49ers have. Emmanuel Sanders said

The young quarterback has an aura about him, despite being the last pick in his draft class, Purdy has no shortage of confidence, he knows how to lead and get all the players involved.

Emmanuel Sanders is certain of Brock Purdy continuing to achieve success in the NFL

The quarterback is the engine of an offense. When the QB is able to step in with confidence and is able to make the other players believe, it ignites a spark within the players and it keeps them constantly motivated. Sanders further pointed out that he is certain that Purdy is proving his critics wrong yet again.

Everything I’m hearing is just keep sleeping on Purdy, he’s going to keep proving them wrong. Referring to the disappointing ranking of PFF, Emmanuel Sanders stated

There is no reason to doubt Sanders’ prediction as Purdy has already done so week after week. They criticized him for being a system quarterback, they criticized him for having a bad stretch in the middle of the 2023-24 season, and claimed he was done. However, Purdy did not panic, he gathered himself and bounced right back.

His story is straight out of a scriptwriter’s desk. He gets drafted last in 2022, and is not expected to play and just serve in a backup position but due to fate, he gets his shot in his rookie year and he performs so well that the team cannot help but recognize his greatness. The only thing remaining for Mr. Irrelevant is to win a Super Bowl and really silence all the haters, a feat he is very well capable of achieving this year.
