How Maresca has explain his philosophy directly to supporters

The Leicester City manager is at the King Power Stadium on Wednesday night where 400 people are expected to ask him about the club’s start to the season and his philosophy

Maresca and City Women boss Willie Kirk are at the King Power Stadium on Wednesday evening for a Q&A with 400 fans. There, they will get to discuss each side’s impressive start to the campaign.

For Maresca, it’s an opportunity to appeal to fans directly having done so through the media over his first few months at City. From his first press conference, Maresca called for patience from supporters, and has since asked them to bring the noise of away ends back to the King Power Stadium.

Despite the club’s position at the top of the Championship table, there have been groans at many home games as fans express frustration at what they perceive to be slow football. Maresca has said that people wanting to see transition football, rather than his more methodical approach, should watch Leeds instead, while after noise of discontent in the home win over Watford a couple of weeks ago, he said: “If some of them are not happy, it’s their problem.”

Now, he gets to talk to fans face to face and puts his ideas across. He is looking forward to it, and to thanking those who have got behind his team.

“I’m 100 per cent happy in the way they behave away and at home. The last home game against Watford probably we had some moments, but I can understand people that come there and they are all different. Probably some of them prefer one thing. But at the end, it’s normal.

“We are completely thankful for the way they behave. Especially what I really like is that they appreciate the effort of the players. Even if now we are in a different position, we can’t forget that they are doing an unbelievable job with a club that’s just relegated. You need to make many changes, and now we are on the right path.”
