Baltimore Ravens will get their chance at revenge as soon as possible to kickoff the 2024 regular season
The first game of the Baltimore Ravens’ schedule has been announced, and it’s against the last team they played last season.
Baltimore will open on the road against the Kansas City Chiefs to open the 2024 NFL season on the night of Thursday, September 5, on NBC.
As the defending Super Bowl champions (again), the Chiefs have the privilege to host the first game of the regular season, and the NFL always wants to make that game competitive featuring two contending teams.
What better matchup than a rematch of the AFC Championship game from a few months ago?
The Ravens were the No. 1 seed in the AFC last season and hosted the Chiefs in the conference title game, allowing just two touchdowns and a field goal in what ended up as a 17-10 loss to the eventual Super Bowl winners.
Despite the outcome for Baltimore, that was one of the more riveting matchups in the NFL last season. The Ravens will have even more to prove this time around with new faces on both sides of the ball, and a new defensive play-caller.
This will be the sixth game between Baltimore and Kansas City since 2018, when both Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes were established as the starting quarterbacks. Jackson is 1-4 against Mahomes, with his lone victory coming in a thrilling 36-35 win back in 2021.
Baltimore last played Kansas City on the road in 2019, which was a 33-28 defeat in Arrowhead Stadium early in the Chiefs’ run to their first Super Bowl title with Mahomes.
