Ipswich Town are considering an audacious move to sign Chelsea starlet Omari Hutchinson permanently, according to TEAMtalk.
The 20-year-old was a key player at Portman Road last season, joining the Tractor Boys on a season-long loan deal last summer.
Initially, it looked as though his game time could be limited during the 2023/24 campaign, but he was a crucial asset for Kieran McKenna in the end and helped the club to secure the extra points needed to go on and win automatic promotion.

They were in a fierce battle with the likes of Leeds United and Leicester City for a top-two place, but it was the Foxes and the Tractor Boys that prevailed in the end.
With their Premier League status confirmed, that has allowed Ipswich to ramp up their plans ahead of the summer window, and they have already been linked with a move for Hutchinson.
They have also been linked with moves for others and following their promotion, McKenna is likely to have a much bigger budget to play with when the window opens.
There are plenty of areas that need to be addressed – and it looks as though Ipswich are keen to replace Hutchinson with Hutchinson!
Ipswich Town latest on Omari Hutchinson
The Jamaica international is wanted on a permanent basis by Ipswich.
That’s according to TEAMtalk, who believe the Tractor Boys will make an approach to try and secure a long-term agreement for their former loanee.
Another loan deal, however, is still thought to be the most likely outcome at this stage, with Chelsea potentially keen to hold on to the 20-year-old after seeing him make such a good impression in Suffolk.
Clubs from the top tiers of England, Germany and the Netherlands all want him, according to Fabrizio Romano, but Ipswich may fancy their chances of securing another deal for him after seeing him thrive at Portman Road.
Ipswich Town could benefit from signing Omari Hutchinson permanently
Hutchinson only has one year left on his deal at Stamford Bridge and with this in mind, the Tractor Boys may not have to fork out a huge amount for him.
He could be sold on for a healthy profit in the future too – and that will only help the Tractor Boys.
However, the Tractor Boys also have other areas that they need to address, and they can’t afford to spend too much on individual players if they are to add the depth needed to each position.
There are no guarantees that Hutchinson will be able to thrive at the top level straight away either.
However, the 20-year-old is clearly a talented player and someone worth investing in if Mauricio Pochettino’s side aren’t going to demand a ridiculously high fee.
A decent sell-on percentage could help to bring his price down – and it will be interesting to see whether a permanent agreement can be reached.
The chance to settle down somewhere permanently where he’s playing regularly is surely an attractive possibility for Hutchinson, who did well in Suffolk last season and could impress again next term.
